Finding your activity
Any activity you like doing is fine. It might be gentle gardening or housework, or going for a walk or to a group class. As long as it involves moving, it’s good.
Ask yourself
What activities do I enjoy doing?
Do I like online groups, in-person groups, or do I enjoy doing things on my own?
Is there someone that could help to encourage me to be more active?
Is there an exercise or activity group near me?
Where can I find out about what’s going on local to me? Library? Sports Centre? GP Practice? Online?
Alone
Walking, gardening, housework, cooking, home chair-based exercises or perhaps following an online yoga routine. Anything is good, as long as it’s something you want to do!
With others
If you prefer being active with other people, what about walking groups, a Tai Chi or dance class or going to pulmonary rehabilitation.
Remember
Try to note down what you are doing to monitor and track your progress.
Set regular goals for yourself.
Remember to reward yourself after achieving your goals.
